Security
Protected Storage! In any large storage system, data security is always a concern, and in this product, that concern is addressed through the provision of hardware RAID in a SATA II disk array system.
The 12 bay MA-5000 Storage Arrays are powered by sophisticated RAID controller technology. The RAID array in all models is configured to be RAID 6, but can also be configured to RAID 0,1,5,10, and 50. Each RAID 6 Array allows two drive failures without impact on the existing data. You can also optionally add a built in Hot-spare drive. The Drive rebuild is transparent to the host. System operation is constantly protected by redundant cooling fans and redundant power supplies.
Storage
Huge capacity! The standard drive sizes offered in the MA-5000 storage servers are 500GB, 750GB and 1TB. Typical storage capacity per drive in hours will be:

The MA-5000 can be ordered with a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 11 Media drives. Drives may be added to the RAID array at any time.
Software:
The resident software will display all inventory, and when connected to a MATCO Video Server the Post Capture options in the server may be configured to automatically transfer inventory to/from the MA-5000 storage server.
The MA-5000 comes optionally with the Grass Valley™ Pro-coder 3.0 software enabling you to have your content automatically converted to practically any Video format and sent to anywhere on your network. Networking
Sharing content with the whole world is easy with the MA-5000 dual Gigabit Ethernet channels. MATCO Servers maybe networked to share inventory with the MA-5000 and can even play several channels of video back from the MA-5000. You may also Setup the MATCO Video servers for automatic transfer of Video files to the MA-5000 via the network. Transfer content with Non Linear Editors like Final Cut Pro™ and Avid™. You can Share content with network affiliates over broadband networks. Downloaded FTP content form PathFire™.
Ease of Use
MATCO software has been designed for ease of use, and to make sense to broadcast personnel. Most operators are comfortable operating MATCO system within about an hour.
